Frequently Asked Questions

Is online tutoring as effective as in-person tutoring?

FAQ Home

Though in-person tutoring was once the default model for tutoring, Next Level’s virtual one-on-one instruction is just as effective—and often more efficient. Our instructors are trained to use proven strategies and techniques that enhance focus, communication, and engagement in a virtual setting. With the right structure, tools, and best practices, virtual sessions can reduce in-person distractions, eliminate commute-related fatigue, and offer greater scheduling flexibility—without compromising effectiveness or student success.

Virtual one-on-one tutoring is not the same as online group instruction. Personalized support allows for customized attention, real-time feedback, and pacing that fits individual students—not the group (whether it’s two people or ten people). If the pandemic proved anything, it’s that group-based online learning often leaves students disengaged and underserved. Next Level’s virtual one-on-one model is the opposite—focused, individualized, and results-driven.
