What are the New York State Regents exams?

To earn a high school diploma in New York State, students entering the 9th grade in 2008 must score 65 or higher on all five New York State exams: English, U.S. History, Global History, Science, and Math. Students who entered the 9th grade prior to 2008 have less stringent requirements.

To receive an Advanced Regents diploma, students must score 65 or more on all their Regents exams, take additional courses, and pass additional science, math, and foreign language exams.

An Advanced Regents diploma with Honors is issued to students who take additional courses for an advanced diploma and achieve an average of 90% or more on all Regents exams.

A plan of action.

The New York State Regents exams can be pressure-filled because there are limited opportunities to take the test and a diploma hangs in the balance. The good news is that we have an abundance of Regents test prep material available to our students and we know what will be on the exams.
